Nightly Face “Cream”

The first and easiest change you can make to your nightly face routine is your cream/serum. This would be moisturizing stage, post cleaning, exfoliating and toning.

I pretty much create my moisturizer with 3 basic ingredient in the palm of my hand. I wrote cream in parentheses because it is more of a lotion form, you will see.

Here are the product and quantity I use:

  • Base – Aloe Vera Gel (95%) – dime size drop
  • Base/Carrier oil – Nigella Oil – 1 pump or 5 drops
  • Added oil – Rosehip Oil – 3 drops

I then rub my hands together to mix the 3 ingredients and massage the cream on to my face in circular motion.

Tailor your cream/serum:

The above oils will not work for every types of skin (Normal, Dry, Oily, Sensitive, and Combination). It is important to do some research to make sure you choose the right oils/ingredients for your type of skin. If you do not know your type of skin I highly recommend you visit a dermatologist, who will be able to help you identify your type of skin.

Base/ Carrier Oil : If you are unsure as to which base/carrier oil to start with, you may start with Jojoba Oil. This is the oil of excellence as it is suitable for all types of skin since resembles the human sebum the most. This oil will regulate sebum and bring a perfect nutrition to your skin.

Added Oil: You may add an oil to your cream/serum based on the result you are targeting. I personally choose Rosehip Oil, to help minimize my pores/scars due to acne. Do know that Rosehip Oil is suitable for all type of skin and is also great for healing, softening, regenerating, and preventing wrinkles.
